L O V E. We love love! And we love nothing more than working alongside some beautiful couples to bring their vision and dreams to reality.

Tiff + Adam

A year in the making, without meeting in person until the week prior, these two fabulous Californians entrusted us with the planning and coordination of their incredible Muriwai wedding. All guests travelled from far abroad and touched down in NZ for a week of fun before Parihoa Farm became their home for the weekend, and what a weekend it was! This wedding had a bit of everything. A traditional Thai water blessing, Paint & Sip, 4 x outfit changes, the most wonderful music (including Adam’s sister singing the couples first dance song!), a meditation, dining by candlelight, custom totes, tees, epic ceramics and NZ made goodies for the guests to take home, delicious cuisine, the gorgeous Tuki drinks station, a kids corner and not to mention the most special part of all – an ice cream bar dedicated to Tiff’s late father named “Tony’s Treats”. WHAT A DAY.

Sera + James

The absolutely dreamy McCallum Residence was the venue of choice for the gorgeous Sera + James, and what a day it was. When you start the day fishing off the beach and end it with a bonfire under the stars, you know it’s been an incredible day. With guests arriving to a mystery location via shuttle (what a spot to turn up to!), an afternoon of glorious sunshine, an intimate dinner, photobooth fun, the most amazing cake banquet and a whole lot of love. These two are easily the most relaxed, organised and lovely couple out and we loved every moment of coordinating their amazing day.

Mel + Sam

As with many special occasions over the last couple of years, this one was a little touch and go with the pandemic getting in the way time and time again. But, when the day finally rolled around it was just M A G I C ! Our favourite inner city venue, 3 cute kids as the bridal party, delicious cocktails and canapes, live music, a cosy ceremony and intimate long lunch, sparkly lights, gelato, personalised confetti cones, traipsing the streets of Ponsonby, a quick change of outfit and staying out till 3am, it really was a day to remember. Thank you so much to the dream team that made this one happen.

Alicia + Russell

Now this was a fun one! These two lovebirds called on our services early in the planning process to assist them in planning their SURPRISE wedding! Guests were invited to a stunning private Grey Lynn location for Alicia + Russell’s ‘engagement party’. Drinks and canapes were flowing, an array of candles and stunning overhead lighting set the mood, an incredible live band got everyone grooving and just casually a wedding ceremony was officiated much to the surprise and delight of guests. The rest of the night was spent dancing the night away, with huge smiles and happy hearts. Congratulations Mr + Mrs Hunter, thank you for having us on your journey x

Jannah + Ryan

The Ouston wedding was The Event Refinery’s big debut. Our very first wedding. Held at the gorgeous Whangateau Hall, with a picturesque ceremony right by the water at full-tide, it truly was a day dreams are made of. Jannah + Ry wanted a modern rustic theme which came together beautifully. Between the ‘first look’ on the rocks at Tawharanui to the Groom singing Hootie + The Blowfish’s ‘Hold My Hand’ while smashing out the drums; to say this day was ‘magic’ is a bit of an understatement.

Daniella + James

A multi day extravaganza is what they wanted, and a multi-day extravaganza is exactly what they got! Daniella & Jimmy reached out to us from Melbourne, Australia and asked us to plan their exciting colourful festival vibes wedding and holy moly what a weekend! All guests travelled from Oz to join Dun & Jim and most stayed onsite in the purpose-built glamping village that we constructed onsite with our friends at Camplight. The wedding ceremony was held in the Woodlands, followed by an afternoon and evening spent under a gorgeous marquee, playing outdoor games, eating delicious cuisine, toasting marshmallows and partying the night away. The next day saw a bunch of pals take over the DJ decks, food trucks and coffee carts and a whole lot of recovery day fun. Such a special weekend for such a special couple.

Holly + Bartt

The Event Refinery had the absolute pleasure of making the journey from Auckland to Ferry Landing for the wedding of Mr + Mrs Holmes. An absolutely gorgeous setting at a family property, and a true (and spectacular) intimate DIY wedding. So many special touches went in to the day, The Brides own table styling, mini Espresso Martinis for the guests, Bridesmaid dresses cleverly made by Hollys Mum, AND her talented brother playing her down the aisle to his guitar to name a few. Thanks so much for having us as a part of your beautiful adventure.

Gabby + Jonny

The beautiful Kumeu Valley Estate was the venue chosen by Gabby and Jonny for their special day and we were fortunate enough to be able to provide an array of hire items to add that WOW! A large guest list for the pair meant the long rows of tables and benches that we created were nothing short of impressive. Add on tableware, signage, accessories plus insane florals hanging from the rafters, and the magic of the venue and all other incredible vendors combined made for the P E R F E C T day. And as if it wasn’t perfect enough, during the speeches Mr + Mrs Bilkey made the special announcement to their guests that a Mini-Bilkey was on the way (and joined the family in Aug 2020!); the look on their family and friends faces is just priceless! Huge congratulations team! xx

Sophie + Christian

A magical Matarangi wedding in a spot that holds many memories was the perfect place for these two delights to say their ‘I do’s. They chose an absolutely spectacular beach backdrop for their ceremony followed by a party under the stars. A relaxed but modern beachy theme was created by the couple with woodfired pizzas, beverages in boats, brass + bunny tails. The bride did all the floral styling herself and our beautiful tables, festoons, tableware + accessories tied in perfectly. The Event Refinery loved being part of your special day, congratulations Mr + Mrs Knudson!
